Arriving in the lands of Prisacani, you leave Iasi behind for about as long as it takes to tell a story, and your breath almost falters in front of an age-old forest that infuses a slightly cold air. In the heart of the woods, we discover a clearing basking in the sun, full of bushes laden with black and red currants, raspberries, and blackberries.

The Prut River is right at the edge of the meadow, contributing from its richness to the well-being of the thirsty soil that quenches the plantation’s thirst. As far as the eye can see, there are fruits almost bursting with sweetness, fruits that are eagerly waiting to be picked and later transformed into healthy nectar. George welcomes us with joy, a kind man who has dedicated his time and livelihood to perfecting plant growth that will later provide the fruits for the finest juice. After he shares with us some of the secrets of the crop, we somewhat awkwardly start picking.

Precision and care, the joy of harvesting, and the thought of the sweet nectar compel us to compete in filling our little baskets with fruits. After we redefine the ideas of meticulousness and patience, we reach George’s yard, where the whole family, from young to old, is ready to help in obtaining the nectar. Sophisticated machines worthy of a science fiction novel come to life and eagerly receive the fruits that gradually transform into the juice that is already inviting a few bees to taste it and silently deliver a verdict: yes, this juice is as sweet as it should be. We taste it and are in the same agreement with them.

The juice flows and flows, filling glasses that greedily receive the nectar, which has a color unlike anything seen even at the peak of a painter’s brush creating autumn landscapes. The taste, tranquility, the people, the colors, the place, all these ingredients make the cold-pressed fruit juice from Prisăcani a joy that quenches thirst and leaves room for health.
