3D Aromas Project Presentation

Between February 2022 and September 2023, seven Local Action Groups (LAGs) implemented the cooperation project “Local Recipe Aromas – a 3D Magic Book for Promoting Products, Traditions, and Tourism.” This project was funded under the LEADER Program, Measure 19.3B, National Rural Development Program (PNDR) 2014-2020.

The main objective of the project is to increase the visibility of the areas covered by the LAGs through the use of new technologies, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the image and tourist identity specific to each area. Therefore, increasing the local population’s knowledge of their traditions and local gastronomy can lead to an increase in the number of tourists choosing the partner LAGs’ territories as vacation destinations.

General Project Objective: To stimulate tourism by identifying local traditional recipes from the partner LAG territories using innovative and interactive methods.

Specific project objectives include:

1. Strengthening the project team’s capacity and encouraging community involvement in identifying, promoting, and exploiting traditional recipes from the partner LAG territories as a tool for promoting tourism and traditions, including those of minorities.

2. Identifying, collecting, and categorizing local traditional recipes (including those of minorities) from the common territory.

3. Organizing a contest with filmed traditional recipes and creating a common presentation video book with sound and images, including 360-degree footage.

4. Promoting the tourist and local product potential of local producers and artisans from the common territory by creating mini-documentaries on culinary specifics, gathered together in an electronic book that can be browsed online.

– Animation and identification activities for local products, producer groups, tourist attractions, and local recipes that highlight local heritage, including minorities
– Common promotional event, a contest with video materials filmed by amateurs from the common territory
– Promoting local products, traditions, and tourism potential through:
– Creating presentation videos, aerial drone footage, 360-degree filming, interviews with resource persons, recipe filming
– Producing a final video featuring the most representative “recipes,” an electronic book called “AROMA OF LOCAL PRODUCTS” – a common innovative tool for promoting partner territories
– Creating and uploading information on the project website
– Seminar to present methods for protecting product trademarks (OSIM, traditional product), marketing, and branding

– Two working workshops
– Two promotional conferences
– Project presentation posts on social media networks
– Seven information caravans in the partner LAG territories
– 83 collected recipes
– 3 finalists in the filmed recipe contest
– 1 award event
– 21 filmed recipes
– 1 common presentation video

The total value of the project is 143,283.00 euros.

Measure: 19.3B “Implementation of Cooperation Activities of Selected LAGs”

The purpose of this funding measure is to encourage and support Local Action Groups in carrying out common actions with other DLRC structures to improve the potential of LEADER areas. This program is an important instrument for rural stakeholders, offering an efficient mechanism to help rural areas develop and find solutions to common issues.

Measure 19 – LEADER Local Development Support is an important instrument for Romania in reducing economic and social disparities between urban and rural areas. According to the provisions of Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council, LEADER local development is the responsibility of the community and benefits from FEADR support.

The National Rural Development Program is implemented by the Agency for Financing Rural Investments, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. PNDR is funded by the European Union and the Government of Romania through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

LAGs are public-private partnerships, non-governmental, non-profit organizations where decisions are made by 50% +1 by private partners.
